Our
Lilly...,
Absolute L*O*V*E the minute we met her.
Lille Drøm means Little Dream in Danish,
the good name for this sweet tempered, beautiful girl with a
heart of gold.
Her pedigree is a combination of cats we like and we have
been
privileged to see in real (and brothers, sisters, uncles and
aunts of these cats).
Katja, a million thanks for letting us have your special
"Lille" Sweetheart
into our home and heart. |

Because Lilly doesn't like it, she
will not be taken to any show.
She can be admired at home ;)
13.10.2011 Unfortunately our
Lilly will have no litters anymore.
We will have to talk with the
vet about the risks for neutering in her case.
She has been diagnosed with CIN (Chronical
Interstitial Nephritis)
Information can also be found under the name CRF (Chronic Renal
Failure).
CIN is the most common
kidney disease. The kidneys become shrunken and normal kidney tissue
turns into dead scar tissue.
It can affect cats of all breeds and also domestic cats.
Lilly is diagnosed PKD Negative, which means that a diagnose
of PKD negative doesn't mean the kidneys are okay.
CIN attacks the kidneys slowly, a negative result on an early age
doesn't mean a thing.
Lilly's disease is discovered in a very early stage and she is 3
years old. So an earlier test would have shown us nothing.
CIN is much more
common than we think. It often goes unnoticed because no tests are
done. When the cat isn't tested the disease can go unnoticed until
75% of the kidneys is destroyed. So when the first symptoms are
appearing, mostly at a stage when
only one third of the kidney
is still functional, it is often too late.
I'm working on a
database for CIN and other kidney diseases in Norwegian Forest Cats.
If you want, please send in
your data (ONLY test results or autopsy reports of Norwegian Forest
Cats).
